 The activity was carried out at the headquarters of the sawmills located in Chaguaramas, Monagas state 

With games, recreational activities, prizes, music and a lot of camaraderie, the celebration of May 1st was held for the workers of the sawmills that are part of the wood business line of Corporación Business & Development. 

The meeting was attended by both operational and administrative personnel, which served to strengthen ties, as well as to recognize Corporación Business for the work they do every day related to the production of sawn timber. 

On behalf of the company, Yesenia Gamero, leader of b&Wood, and Javier Arbona, Human Resources Manager of Corporación BD, were present. They both thanked all the workers for participating in this initiative whose purpose was to seek integration as a team. 

“We are very happy to have shared with the approximately 60 workers who make a living in the two sawmills, it is a way of honoring their dedication and commitment, we have people who have been with us since the beginning of our operations, we are glad to see that there was good receptivity with the activity,” Gamero said.

In the celebration, the workers participated in a game of Creole balls, dominoes, sack races, among other activities that provided a space for sharing and distraction.

 The sawmills strategically located in the Monagas state, specifically in the Chaguaramas sector, process pine wood for the manufacture of pallets, packaging, construction and carpentry.

After this activity, the implementation phase begins.


As part of the activities carried out by the Coordination of the Quality Management System of Corporación Business & Development, the procedures related to the execution of maintenance were disclosed.


The person in charge of the area, Lir Piña, highlighted the importance of each team member being involved in order to successfully implement each standard and procedure within the Quality Management System.


“What follows now is to implement what we are going to do, what we declare, always thinking about identifying opportunities for improvement, that is, we have to measure, analyze and make corrective measures if necessary,” said Piña.


In the same way, the CEO of Corporación B&D, Tony Vargas, stressed that for this type of actions -which seek to work with quality and organization criteria- to work, they must be internalized by all members of the organization. “It is not about complying with the procedures because they were stipulated, it is about applying them with the conviction that we are going to make them more efficient, more productive and in this way we will be able to meet the objectives set.


Vargas stated that “this affects not only the operational area but also the commercial area, we know what it means for our clients that we work under regulations, following international standards.”

A Quality Management System (QMS) can be defined as a “series of coordinated activities that are carried out to direct and control the elements of an organization that influence the fulfillment of customer requirements and the achievement of customer satisfaction.” of it”, thus explained Yelidi Muñoz, SGC Implementation Advisor.


For the specialist, it is about defining processes that must be interrelated, therefore it is necessary that there is direction, organization and planning, aspects that certainly involve the entire team but that depend on the guidelines issued by the leaders, “the participation of the Senior management is vital, if it is not committed to this, we can hardly implement a Management System, because there must be a conviction that there really are benefits, there must be a conviction that the processes will be improved, in addition that there must be a generation of resources that are essential for implementation.

ISO 9001 standard for the implementation of a QMS


This international standard establishes the criteria for a quality management system when an organization has the “need to demonstrate its ability to regularly provide products and services that satisfy customer requirements”.


Muñoz, indicated that having a certification of this type does not mean that the problems in each process will disappear, “the standard will not prevent, for example, that I have defective products or that at some point I provide a bad service, which it does What it means is that as an organization I am going to have actions and processes to determine what happened and minimize those situations from happening again.” He clarified that the ISO 9001 Standard certifies the system, not the products.


The specialist highlighted that in the standardization process it is necessary for the entire organization to know what it is for and what is the purpose of going towards certification.

BD Corporation signs agreement with UC School of Engineering
 
 
  


With a view to developing projects through the b&Engineering Business Unit, the Business and Development Corporation established an institutional cooperation agreement with the Foundation for the Promotion and Development of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Carabobo, which covers the area of research, technology diffusion and training.


For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the highest house of studies in the Carabobo state, Manuel Jiménez, stated that this alliance is of the utmost importance for the institution for everything that has to do with self-management. “This cooperation comes at a time when as a University we needed it, we have great expectations, we receive this help with great joy, it injects us with encouragement, this revives us.”


Jiménez reaffirmed his commitment for this to be a “win-win” relationship, where professors, researchers, and students from the different disciplines taught by the Faculty, such as Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Programming, and Telecommunications engineering, can work together. with the professionals of the Corporation in projects that will undoubtedly translate into benefits for the industrial area of ​​the country.

B&D Corporation strengthens ties with Carabobo companies
 
 
Corporación Business & Development was one of the 91 companies that participated in the 3rd Business Roundtable organized by the Valencia Chamber of Puerto Cabello in conjunction with the Chamber of Small and Medium-sized Industrialists and Artisans of the state of Carabobo.
Jesús García, Director of Operations of Corporación B&D, stated that this activity was an excellent opportunity to expand the portfolio of suppliers and customers, as well as to evaluate the interest generated by the products and services of each of the business units of the organization. Likewise, Elinora Muñoz, Commercial Manager of Corporación B&D, indicated that “the meeting allowed us to approach companies related to the Maintenance and Engineering business lines, as well as public institutions regarding the different wood products handled through the b&Wood business unit.
For his part, the president of the Puerto Cabello Chamber of Commerce, Juan Esteban Rodríguez, expressed that this initiative seeks to achieve “the necessary spaces to continue generating the commercial and economic fabric of the private sector, which is so important in the recovery of the Venezuelan economy”.
